We go beyond surface metrics examining whether programs create real outcomes, conducting board member interviews, assessing community buy-in, and ensuring organisations have diversified funding and growth capacity. This comprehensive evaluation process ensures we partner only with organisations that transform donations into measurable, lasting change for the communities they serve.
Unrestricted, Long-Term Funding
Two principles are core to GIFT's approach.
First, unrestricted funding: once we have thoroughly vetted an organisation, we trust them completely to decide how best to use the funds. We implement a trust-based philanthropy approach, empowering local leaders who understand their communities best to drive the work.
Second, long-term partnerships: real change is chaotic and rarely follows neat timelines, which is why we commit to 3-7 year partnerships depending on each organisation's context and goals. Together, these principles allow our partners the flexibility to adapt and innovate while building sustainable capacity for lasting transformation.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Impact doesn’t end at the grant. At GIFT, we prioritise monitoring and evaluation systems that make sense for each organisation, enabling them to learn and improve their programs continuously.
Donors receive clear quarterly monitoring updates, compiled by GIFT, so they can see progress with confidence.
